Streamsong Red Hole 2

To see the entire write up go here

Par 5
555 | 508 | 461 | 371 yards

After climbing the stairs to the tee box on number 2, you see another tough tee shot ahead.  Another forced water carry comes into play.  This time the danger is real.  From the tips it is a 215 yard carry to the fairway.  The water wraps around the left side of the fairway a bit before ending.  Water also runs up the length of the right side of the hole.

The hole is slightly angled from the tees, creating an effect dogleg right par 5. Sand runs down the entirety of the left side of the hole.  Played too conservatively you can hit through the fairway and into the sand.

The landing area off the tee is actually pretty generous.  Hitting at the widest part of the bunker just to the left of the people in the photo above still take 370 yards to reach from the tips.

The walk from the tee leads you around to the right and across a wooden bridge.  Heavy rains early this morning left some of the paths a little squishy.

A hit down the right side not only brings water into play but also brings trouble on upcoming shots.

From a more central location, the fairway is actually pretty exposed.  Not the longest of par 5s, the only real trouble for aggressively targeting the green are the pair of centrally placed bunkers.

The left bunker is actually about 50 yards from the green, while the one on the right is protecting the front edge of the green.  Also in play on the right side are the grassy mounds.

The mounds are shaved slightly at the bottom which can lead to some creative banking off of them onto the green.  There is plenty of room to miss to the left of the green.  For those trying to get on in 2 a miss to the left is definitely the way to go.

The green here is relatively narrow (25 yards) but is quite deep at 52 yards!

So far my sticks have played pretty good.  I carded a par here.

The next hole is up the hill to the right as you leave the back of the green.  It was a little hard to tell that when we played.
