Par 5
535 | 508 | 451 | 427 yards
A long par 5 that curls slightly right before straightening out as you approach the green. The hole plays slowly uphill the entire length.
Off the tee, a central bunker divides the fairway. The bunker sits in the perfect landing zone for tee shots and must be avoided by hitting to either side. Left of the bunker offers slightly more room but offers a blind look into the green if you try to go for it in two.
The right side of the hole has water directly right of the tees. That ends before it would come into play, however sand does run up the length of the right side.
A reminder we were in Florida awaited to the right of the tees on the 13. A gator had a nice island to himself. The course has a myriad of wildlife. We some numerous deer, this gator and more birds that we could count.
As you walk up this fairway, look to your left to see the amazing hotel off in the distance.
Once you pass the central bunker, the hole is fairly open until you get to 100 yards. At that point a hill comes in from the left. The green is tucked behind this hill making any approaches from the left side of the hole a blind shot into the green.
At the choke point in the fairway, about 100 yards out, two hills on either side of the hole squeeze down the fairway. Both of these hills feature bunkers carved into their exposed faces. Beyond them, the green sits nestled in.
The green is unprotected right. Left features bunkers. Going long here is to be avoided as more bunkers sit there, and the hole also falls off into the scrub behind.
Coming up short on your approach into the green can give you a nasty lie, like my Dad had hare.
The green is another deep kidney shape affair. Undulations on the green break up the otherwise back to front slope.
A view back of the green shows the dangers that await long.
